How PlateOut works
What is PlateOut?
PlateOut is a free portal where you can find Italian restaurants. Search by city or name and open the venue's listing, with opening hours, address, price range and photos. Where available, book directly with the restaurant. No registration or payment is required.
Who is behind PlateOut?
PlateOut is a project by Plateform S.r.l., the company that develops the platform used by thousands of Italian restaurants to manage bookings and marketing. The portal also lists venues that do not use Plateform.
What is Plateform?
Plateform is the system restaurants use to receive and manage bookings. Bookings go directly to the venue, without intermediaries or commissions per diner. When a restaurant uses Plateform, its listing displays a “Book a table” button leading to the venue's booking page.
Do I need to register or pay anything?
No. You can search, browse listings and reach the booking page for free, without creating an account. PlateOut charges no fees or commissions. Any booking conditions, such as a card guarantee or penalties for not attending, are set by the individual restaurant.
How do I book a table?
When booking is available, open the venue's listing and select “Book a table”. The restaurant's booking page, managed using Plateform, opens, where you choose a date, time and party size. The booking goes directly to the venue, which sends you confirmation. That page has its own conditions and privacy notice.
Can I book at every venue?
No. Online booking is available only at restaurants that manage bookings using Plateform. For others, the listing shows a telephone number and opening hours when available, so you can call the restaurant directly.
I need to change or cancel a booking. How?
Contact the restaurant at the number on its listing, or follow the instructions in the confirmation it sent you. Bookings go to the venue, not to us: we therefore cannot change or cancel them on your behalf.
Where does the information come from?
Opening hours, address, price range and photos come from public sources. They may be updated periodically, but not in real time: each listing displays its last update date. In the meantime the venue may have changed its opening hours, prices or services: check directly with it before visiting.
Who writes venue descriptions?
Descriptions are generated automatically using artificial intelligence, based on the venue's name and address. We do not verify them individually and they are neither reviews nor assessments: they only give you an idea of the place. If a description seems wrong, report it and we will correct or remove it.
I found a problem on a listing. How do I report it?
Complete the form on the restaurant's listing, or email supporto@plateout.com. Specify the venue and what needs correcting or changing. We check the report and reply within 72 working hours.
Are you a restaurateur?
Why is my venue on PlateOut? Who added it?
Listings are created from already public information about businesses, to help people choose where to eat. Being on PlateOut does not entail any relationship with us and does not require you to join. It is not sponsorship either.
Does being on PlateOut cost me anything?
No. The listing is free: there is no subscription fee or commission.
My venue's details are wrong. How do I correct them?
Complete the form on your venue's listing, or email supporto@plateout.com. Specify the restaurant name and what needs correcting. We may ask for evidence of your connection with the venue. We reply within 72 working hours and complete the request within 30 days.
I am not happy with my venue's description. Can I change it?
Yes. Descriptions are generated automatically and may contain inaccuracies. You can request correction or removal using the form on the listing or by emailing supporto@plateout.com.
I want customers to book online from my listing. How?
The “Book a table” button appears when you manage bookings using Plateform. Bookings go directly to you, without commissions per diner, and your customer data remains yours.
I do not want to appear on PlateOut. How do I request removal?
Complete the form on your venue's listing, or email supporto@plateout.com. Specify the venue's name and address. We may ask for evidence of your connection with the venue. We reply within 72 working hours and complete removal within 30 days.
